My truck has roughly 56,000 miles on it. Has been experiencing white smoke on start up, sometimes after inital start up it will smoke blue(rich fuel smell), and then clears up.
I have been reading the posts about changing the cooler, cleaning the EGR valve and such, and read a post about the permant fix.
1. Has there been a recall on these items, that I am not aware of from F.M.C. ?
2. What consists of a permenant fix?
3. If F.M.C. Fixes it, what exactly, supposedly, are they doing to it?
4. Why are we forking out our hard earned money to have the thing fixed when it seems to be such a problem for us guys?
Just a few questions. I have owned my truck since it was new in 2005, never had a problem with it until I took it to the dealer for the reflash.
1. Computer crashed 1/2 way, tech didnt start over, lost cruise and fuel mpg. Had to have it reflashed by them again.
2. Top Fuel filter housing cracked, had F.M.C replace complete housing.
3. Experiencing the severe vibration in front end - Trac bar was loose.
I just want some infromation on what the problem is with the heads, coolant, egr. I don't know much about it.
Thanks everyone.
