EGR Delete

Can someone fill me in on the benefits or drawbacks of making this modification..... I just had to replace injectors and now the FICM is bad, so i'm thinking Atlas 40 from FICM repair.com..... Any input on the EGR delete and how it's done would be greaat..... thanks Wedge

Google youtube videos on EGR deletes for the 6.0L powerstroke. You can see how easy (hehehehe) it is. I just changed my EGR cooler with a sinister cooler but I also changed the oil cooler, added a coolant filter, cleaned polished and greased the turbo, newglow plug harness, boiled the intake manifold and cleaned the EGR valve. The FICM is at Ed's now to be repaired as it would not crank cold. You had to plug it in to crank it.

Yea, i would not say it was easy... It wasn`t complicated but not easy. If you are in a state that does not emission test then imho it is a must do. Take the time to do the research. As far as what you should do just look at peoples post signatures. This will tell you what they thought was important.
