Emission Recall 06E17 on 2003-2004 6.0L Powerstroke

06E17 is for 03/04 NOT 05. If loss of mpg is from reflash (not mechanical) then your stuck w/it for time being. JMO! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]

I just went in today for an oil change and they took it upon themselves to do the reflash. My brother-in-law was a Ford mech. at a dealer in the area but he just recently moved out of state. He was the only one to do any work on my truck and he said not to do the reflash because I will get less mpg. My first time to the local dealer and they reflashed it without asking me. I am leaving this weekend for a 3000 mile trip hauling our 5ver. That is all I need now is to get less mpg. I will see how it does this next couple weeks.

I'd be interested in knowing why you recommended against the reflash.... From my "limited" experience, I see 06E17 as being beneficial.....

Bear in mind that this campaign affects only 03 and early build 04 engines....

I had it done to my 03 6.0 and haven't noticed a decrease in MPG.
I can tell though that the truck seems to start quicker since the flash,but it may just be in my head [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img].
