Ive got 96K on the clock and after my last trip Ive identified some issues. When towing I will occasionally experience power loss. The turbo boost drops significantly usually to 6-8 # and will not go any higher---in a couple of minutes it will slowly begin to increase and in a couple of more minutes it will operate normally again --This has happened before a couple of times --usually several thousand (10-15) between incidents. Now it happens every 500 to 600 miles. No code is thrown.
Ive also noticed a noticable increase in turbo lag not only from inital launch but also at highway speeds when attempting to pass another vechile--
The next issue is an annoying whine in the turbo. The whine occurs usually at lower speed and it is most pronounced when the throttle is "feathered" and backed off slightly. Also the spin down of the turbo is quite noticeable.
Finally my mileage has gone down the tubes. I used to get 12 MPG when towing --now Im lucky if I get 9 MPG--
Since the Engine warranty is up in less than 4K Im taking this to the dealer on Monday Morning to get it fixed--
Any recommendations as to other area that I should have the dealer look at?

Update--I Went to the dealership this AM and found my Turbo missing and a lot of parts scattered all over the bay --Spoke to the Tech -- a new turbo had just arrived and it will be installed today. He also supects it may need a FI or two --but the best news is that its all covered under warranty--Im about 6mos short of the time and less than 4K short of the mileage. Overall a pain in the butt --but this dealer is taking care of me!

Got the truck back from the dealer today. They replaced the turbo and did some reflashing. I was still on the hook for two small items --it needed a thermostat and an intake hose (from the air cleaner to the turbo) -total cost was less than $300 for everything including the deductable. Truck runs much smoother and the boost comes on like it was new!! Life is GOOD!
