Exhaust leak

Was under my truck today and noticed slight evidence of soot around exhaust ports where they meet the head. Are the manifold bolts known to work loose? Is there a gasket there or just metal to metal? Or is some leakage normal? Thanks.

Re: Exhaust leak

6.0 does not come with exhaust manifold gaskets but if it starts to leak there, there are gaskets available.

Re: Exhaust leak

Do you know if there is such a thing for 7.3?
If so, where would I look?

Thanks

Re: Exhaust leak

The exhaust manifold bolts could have worked loose. I know they did on my 7.3. And there should not be leakage. If there is try to tighten the bolts.
