External Trans Filter Housing - Diesel Forum

Guys..

I changed my external trans filter today for the first time. I guess the gorilla was rested up when he put mine on at the factory cause it was tight. Finally got it loose, however, part of the nut broke off on the casting when the socket slipped....still usable but I'd like to have a replacement in hand for next time, just in case. Anyone know the part number for this piece? I found one other thread on the subject, but no part number mentioned. I only need the lower part of the assembly, that comes off to reveal the filter.

I don't have the part number but the only way to get it is in a whole assembly. If your under 36000 miles it will be warrantied.

Don't know what the part number is, but that thing seals with an o-ring. It doesn't take a ton of torque to get a good seal. Too, if you have an impact, you can "blip" it and it will come off easily. I know that doesn't help ya now, but it might next time....
