Hi,
I looking seriously at a 2004 F-250 Harley-davidson with a 6.0l. I used to own a 2001 F-350 and a 2003 F-350 both with 7.3L's. I swore I wouldnt own an early 6.0 but this deal seem way to good to pass up. The truck is a one owner and has a few mods that Im concerned about. It has a custom 4 inch stainless steel exhaust and a bull dog 3 position programer that was used for fuel milage. The guy is a realestate agent in dier need of cash and based on what I know about him i know the truck was not beat . The truck only has 57000 miles and looks like he just drove it off the showroom floor. My question is the programmer. Did He hurt the truck by running this programmer? the only thing he towed was a 4000lb boat. I drove it and It is sweet!!! He has never had any fuel injection problems. I crawled under the truck and there is an oil leak. The oil pan and part of the bell housing is damp with oil. It looks like the bell housing oil is only becouse of blow off from the pan. What do you guys think?
pass up.
either a 7.3 or a 6.4, 6.0's are not worth it, way to many problems, and expensive ones too. Nothings personal here 6.0 owners, not your fault.

The powerstroke help guy is not a end all. Educate your self before you purchase. The oasis report that tell warranty work would be my first thing to look. Oil leaks are common and pretty involved to diagnose. The bullydog is not the greatest programmer. If I were looking at the truck I would look at the degas bottle and make sure ther is no splatter of coolant around it. Then drive it hard for a few minitues then look and see if it pukes. Not a 100% correct way to tc check for head gaskets or egr problems but a common way to see.

I didn't realize that they were discounting the parts on the 6.4.

actually for what it is worth..... the 6.0 can run for a while with blown head gaskets. blown egr coolers and the like. now a 6.4.... your looking at a complete engine. the 6.0 is a great motor if the right things are addressed
