So here it is. After two months and 500 miles back and forth to the dealership a failed primary fuel filter was the reason for all of my problems. Service manager said that the primary filter looked like a smashed pop can. There was not a single shred of filter left in the cage. Consequently, the secondary filter got so plugged up that after the engine got warm and the filter swelled it would shut the fuel delivery off. Especially when more fuel was being asked for. A fuel pressure diagnostic test was finally run and after 20 minutes the fuel pressure dropped 20 psi. ***!! It sure would have been nice if that would have been one of the first things that was checked. I am fast becoming educated in the ways these dealerships work. They are not allowed to make educated guesses to try and diagnose problems. My guys were on the verge of putting in a new manifold, turbo, injection system, and more. You can imagine the relief on their part when it was a couple of filters and a flush job that makes all ok. I'm stoked to have my rig back and running strong, but the hassle was almost too much.
The service manager said that he has never heard of a failed fuel filter. I trust the guy, but I am still skeptical that the filters were even changed. Warrenty work says that they were, but the jury is still out.

A failed filter is very common - especially if the wrong filters (aftermarket) are installed. Your dealership has heard of it.
So getting an airdog 100 gives a lift pump and more filtering. How about fuel pressure? I heard a guy running an extra hfcm to get his fuel pressure up cheaper I guess!
Does the airdog 2 incorporate fuel pressure? What is the difference between airdog100, airdog 2 and Fass systems?

I put a holly Black pump in line between the tank and the frame mounted pump. Put it on a switch but run it all the time, it keeps my pressure up there and was much cheaper then an airdog.

If you have a defective filter all the extra pressure will just jam more filter media into the system faster. Side point here, Filters should have been the 1st item checked with a performance problem. I'd be real leary about this dealer. Point #2, you may have damaged some injectors, Only time will tell.

YEA IF HE RAN IT LONG WITH FUEL PSI THAT LOW HE WILL BE REPLACING SOME INJECTORS BEFORE LONG.
CHANGING THE FILTERS WITH (MOTOR CRAFT) ON A REGULAR BASIS SEEMS EXPENESIVE BUT WHEN YOU START CHANGING INJECTORS FROM FUEL STARVATION AND DIRTY OIL THOSE FILTERS DIDNT COST THAT MUCH PAY A LITTLE NOW OR A LOT LATTER
