Received code P0611 today. Found out what it was (Fuel Injector Control Module) (FICM). Truck has 90432 miles on it . Was wondering if it was covered under the 100000 warranty? Just replaced both batteries and alternator within the last month.Any thoughts about why this code keeps coming back?

Yor FICM works hard to amplify the system voltage from 12V to 48V. If you operate with bad batteries and/or charging system, then you can ruin your FICM. It is under your 100k 5yr warranty. I believe it is even under your emissions warranty - so ZERO deductible.
Under emissions warranty, you will not be charged for labor, diagnosis, or parts for any emissions control device or system for 100k (ie no $100 deductible): Air flow sensor
Air Fuel Feedback control System and sensors
Cold start enrichment system
Electronic engine control sensors and switches
EGR system
Exhaust manifold
Fuel Injection System
Intercooler Assembly - Engine Charger
Power Train Control Module
Turbocharger Assembly Also covered by the two emissions warranties (Emissions defect warranty and Emissions performance warranty):
All emisssions-related bulbs, hoses, brackets, tubes, gaskets, seals, belts, connectors, non-diesel fuel lines and wiring harnesses that are used with components on the list above.

...although, the dealer will insist on the $100 anyway like mine did... A bad FICM seems to generally follow a bad set of batteries or a bad alternator. Thing is way to fragile...

This happens way too often. I admit that the language in the warranty manual is a little vague, but it is worth making the dealership call Ford - while you are there listening to the call. The intent from Ford was zero deductible. It seems like many (maybe even most) dealerships avoid this topic and take the $100 ........... disappointing.
Basically the manual says you will not be charged! If you are not charged, then how can there be a deductible??

Took it in this morning had it checked they pulled same code I did. They said Ford makes them reprogram the (FICM) and try it again. Same thing again, it was bad. Put new one on and it was covered under the emissions warranty, so I got lucky and did not have to pay a deductible.

That's nice. I'm glad to hear that you didn't have to pay the $100. I like to think there are some good guys out there intending to do the right thing.

fantastic! Did they volunteer the "no-deductible" or did you have to remind them?

Must be nice to still have a warrenty. I just had to fix mine out of pocket. $910.
Wow. I just paid $550 for my reman FICM at the dealership plus $170 to relash it. Out of pocket.

He told me he ran my vin number and it was covered under emission warranty. I did not have to ask about it. All I had to do was sign the paper work. These should already programmed when you buy it right?

Nope, has to be programmed when installed in the vehicle.

Just had a similar alternator diagnosis with my truck from the dealer. I have been experiencing surging idle and engine stalls on a couple occasions. 1st time (about a month ago) dealer advised on "excessive carbon build-up". They did a repair, labor cost was: $1400. ESP plan covered major parts (turbo rebuild, EGR, etc.) but not labor. Next day lost turbo boost EBP sensor failed, dealer repaired. Last Wednsday, again surging idle and engine stall. The new diagnosis revealed alternator has intermitten voltage drop which inturn affects the FICM signals, thus the surging and stalling (according to them). My point is, I brought to their attention (the dealer) FICM wiring harness issues that surfaced early in 2005 and pressed the issue with them to run an OASIS report on my truck (no recall campaign was present). I feel that prompted them to take a better look at my electrical system. Why didn't they do a more thorough check the first time. Now again I must pay a $50 deductible and wait a few days to get the truck back. There are 2 additional issues they are also repairing a leaking oil bypass or turbo oil line (they refer to it as a turbo duct connection) and the MASS air plastic conduit which both were damaged when re-installed incorrectly during the first repair a month ago. Just thought I would share this little adventure with you all...

Extang Tonneau bed cover, fumoto valve and finally air horns. Truck was ordered with all the goodies except moon roof.
Ask the dealer for the re-manufactured one to save money, that's how I bought mine last Friday. It was a little over $500 plus $100 core. International didn't have one. Be wary of the ones on eBay as they may be untested.
