Fuel Injector Service?

I'm having injector problems. I have 65K miles on the truck.

Ford replaced #8 in August, and now #7 is bad.

The service writer tells me that the injectors need to be serviced every 30K miles. I beleive he is referring to a cleaning process.

They have never mentioned this before. I believe the injector failures are not related to any cleaning process, and might even be an O ring failure.

What do you guys think?

Re: Fuel Injector Service?

Have them show you in the maintenance schedule that this service needs to be done. I have never seen anything like that in my owners/maintenance manual. IMHO it is another way to get in your pocket.

Re: Fuel Injector Service?

It sounds like the service guy is full of...IT. I would take it to another dealership.

Re: Fuel Injector Service?

Concider yourself lucky mine got new injectors at 42K, in #1,2,3,4,5, and 7 and it is in for #2 again right now at 47K on it. I think these thing come from Batswana, or maybe they are made by some work study program somewhere.
