I've done two of them now. It took about 3 hours for the first one, and an hour for the second. Amazing how much faster it goes the second time. For both of them, we dropped the tank. Only had a few gallons in the tank each time so it was very easy to handle. Both were FX4 models so there was the skid plate to contend with.
If I remember correctly, 4 bolts for the skid plate, 4 bolts for tank mounts, remove filler and vent hose, fuel lines and sending unit. Open tank from top and cut off the vent tube drop only. I left about an inch on it.
Reverse procedure to re-install.
When pump shuts off now, I only have to trickle in the last gallon instead of the last 5. Overall, a very worthwhile mod.
