Help with '04 Alternator replacement

I have to replace the alternator on my 04 350. I need to know an easier way to get the belt off other than doing it the way that my Haynes manual suggest! Manual says to remove the radiator! Thanks racinpapa

Stand on RH side of vehicle (may need something to stand on), pull HARD on belt until tensioner has moved far enough to push the lock on the tensioner into place, release belt while holding lock in place until tensioner housing contacts lock, this will keep any tension from being applied to belt. Slip belt off alternator and replace, slide belt over pulling and tug on belt to release tensioner lock. Hope this makes sense....

I used a claw hammer to pull the belt from the alt housing then pushed in the lock. I then used the hammer across the fan shroud and engine to keep the belt on the pullies. First time took like 30 mins to figure out how to. Now it takes me longer to find the tools than to pull the alt.
