Reason: aditional info
Weird. Does it have any boost? Maybe a CAC boot came off? What does it do if you give throttle? Lots of black smoke means no boost/lots fuel. Do you hear a loud noise under the hood like a shop vac?

update.
Thanks for the responses,
I disconected the batteries. and then started unpluging every wire in the harness and
reconnected everything. Truck started and blew white smoke for a few minuets then
massive amount of black smoke. now all is ok. I have no idea what happened. Boost pressure is 24 a wot and all seems ok.
Hi again
well it happened again.
This time i was more carefull about what i disconnected.
Heres what i found, When i unplug the connector going to the turbo
the smoke clears up and i have all the power i could ever want.
this does not make any sense to me. as soon as i plug back in
i get massive white and black smoke and cant get out the drive without
holding my foot on the floor. then it clears up and runs good till i
lift , then it loads up and blows smoke.
I hope someone has an idea.
Thanks in advance
I suspect when you plug the turbo connector in you are getting a signal to the computer that the vanes are in a postion that they really aren't in. This is causing the engine computer to send the wrong amount of fuel to the injectors - thus the smoke. When you unplug it, the computer doesn't get the false signal and puts the correct amount of fuel through the injectors. So - looks like a sensor or turbo problem - more likely a sensor. Put a proper code reader on it and see what it tells you.

If you need to take it to a shop I recommend Joe Cooper Ford in Yukon Ok which is only a few miles west of OK City. When I broke down passsing through they took good care of us and the diesel tech there is real good with the 6.0's.
