HELP!!! Can't get CAC tube back on intake

I took off the EGR valve to clean it and also took off the CAC plastic pipe on the intake pipe and cleaned all that. Now I can't get the CAC pipe back on. It just won't go! Is there something special I need to do or some angle I need to push it in? I have tried until I almost have a hernia or pop a blood vessel and it will just not go. Any ideas?? thanks!

I've been there. Here's a little trick.....loosen clamp and slide down cac tube, there will/should be a metal ring around cac tube underneath clamp, slide it down tube out of way, use a micro torch or something similar to SLIGHTLY heat plastic where clamp tightens down, then push cac tube on.

Put the tube on the intake elbow as best as you can, put a pry bar against the tube using leverage from the left side engine lift bracket eyelet. Pops right on.

Thanks for the replies! I got up this morning and took the tube out of the truck and put the intake on the ground and took the tube and pushed down on it and it went right on. What a bit*h! I guess its that way to keep from coming off. Anyway it runs just fine now. And my EGR valve looks like new. :-)

Glad you got it on.

For future referance... Less than an hour usually isn't enough to gather replies on a new post. We all have lives too and can't sit on the forums waiting for the second a new post comes up. Patience really pay's off. If you need imediate help without waiting a service rep at the stealership may help out. Not trying to be harsh but some things take time.

I hear what you are saying, but on the contrary I have seen quite a few posts where there were answers quite fast. Plus I made the most in the evening when people would be likely to be on checking email and forums etc.. Anyway I don't want to get into an argument or anything, I do notice there are lots of people on here that are quick to tell someone they are wrong or correct them. So I will take what you said under advisement. thanks.
