Re: Help with knocking noise
[ QUOTE ]
Looking for a little help here. During any driving condition, even when removing my foot from the brake at a stop, I'm hearing a knocking noise coming from behind the rear seat, on both sides of the truck. It sounds as though the noise is coming from between the box and the rear of the cab. When it's bad it is really loud and almost a constant knock, knock, knock.
Please tell me someone is experiencing the same thing? My dealer thinks I'm nuts

That is a little vague alright. Can you give more specifics? i.e. when it does it, what speed, turning, level ground. I would check anything that is moving under those conditions, u-joints or drive shaft carrier bearing. One time my mothers car had this weird knock when I stopped and I could not figure it out. I drove around for about 30 minutes, checked differential and suspension and could not find anything wrong. Later I went to put something in the trunk and she had a bowling ball loose in the trunk . That is a learning experience .
Good Luck
