Help!! Leaking 6.0

Hey guys, I have a 05 6.0 that has been leaking what seems to be a yellow liquid (coolent???) toward the back of the motor. Some days it will not leak at all, and some days like today it will leak a 7" puddle, the puddle will be under the starter it looks like it is leaking from above the starter on the block, but im not 100% sure. Can anybody help me!! THANKS

Sounds like the egr cooler hose. Orange hose in top engine valley just to the left of the oil filter. They like to leak on cool down for whatever reason. Probably contraction.

If it is that hose have you guys changed one before? Just wondering if it is hard? Do you guys think it could be a gasket? I wouldnt think so, do to the fact that the engine runs good and is not smokin or anything. Thanks again for all your help

I looked at that hose and it looked ok, no leak. Think it could be a bad gasket? Even though the truck runs good. It was leaking a little when I got home from work, I got under the truck for a good while to see if I could pinpoint the leak with no luck, it just looks like it is coming out of some where above the starter on the block unless there is a hose or something on the back passenger side of the engine that could cause it to be leaking down the side. Thanks again for the help!! really want to figure it out so I dont have to bring it to the ford dealer!!!

The hose 69cj is talking about is on the passenger side and buried - very hard to see. I sure don't know how you can do a visual on it and say it is OK.

Ok that works, I thought I had found that hose in the valley.. I will have to really get in there and find it if possible, is there any tricks to be able to get in there and see it? Again thanks for all the help!!! If that is the problem is it a big job to fix?

Check the intake area around the hose and you will likely find coolant there. The hose you are looking for is approxiamtely 3-4 inches long and should be orange (or blue) in color. I had the same leak and saw nothing leaking out of the hose visually, but the area around it was wet and dirty. HTH.

O5diesel - Did you get the replacement at ford and if so what was the price and part number? Was it pretty straight forward? Mine just started with this current cold snap.
