Help me
I drive a 2005 PSD for my work truck (f350 srw , crew cab , 4x4 etc) we actually run 4 of them on our harvest crew (2 04's and 2 05's) one 04 has had every single problem that the PSD is known for (injectors , turbos , etc) and the other 04 has been somewhat ok. The 05's were turning out to be better , one has had zero problems , besides the ac quit, but the second one has been giving us trouble (and it happens to be the one i drive). In the morning (70 plus deg outside temp) it starts harder than normal, has a severe miss (i guess between 3 and 5 cyls actually fire) has no throttle response , blows white/blue/black/gray smoke (depending on the day) once it warms up enough that it will idle on it's own, it misses hard enough to shake the change in the ash tray most days. This morning was by far the worst , it filled the entire hotel parking lot with white stinky smoke. Once i finally got it calmed down (15 mins later) i pulled out on the road , and it did the usual severe lack of power, tranny not shifting at all, etc , until it warms up some more , and it comes out of that. Today it started doing something new, dead pedal, even after it warms up , driving through town , and no throttle, at all , and the engine gets very quiet , but does not stall when this happens, and it blows black smoke during the fits of dead pedal also.
About a month ago it did this exact thing , and left me stranded on the side of the road in Wyoming, had it towed to the ford dealer and they replaced one injector , and called it good. It worked excellant for about 2 days , and then it slowly started getting worse. I called my boss today after it started giving me dead pedal , and he muttered a few expletives followed by "ford trucks" and he gave me the real bad new , the other 3 pickups were doing the exact same thing now, even the other 05 which had been completely trouble free. The other thing this 05 does , is when towing , the turbo makes and EXTREMELY high pitched squeel , definetly NOT normal turbo noise , it sounds to me more like an impellar wheel touching a housing, it happens around 20 lbs boost , and around 2500 rpm , letting off to 2000 makes it go away , but this limits you to about 40 mph down hill...
Does anyone know if ford can fix these trucks? I know there is not something simple wrong with these...
