If you brake torque it, does it try to spool or no? Can you hear the turbo doing anything?

Reason I ask, is i've seen cases where you can look at the side tanks of the intercooler and they look fine. Under boost though, a seam will open up, but with no boost, everything looks normal... Matter of fact you couldn't even make the seam open up by tools. You don't realize how much force a few pounds of boost is..

what is brake torque?

the turbo sounds like it spools, no boost at all, the boost gauge says 0. the truck feels like it does not have a turbo. anyway i can check the intercooler? and to take the intercooler off, i have to remove the radiator?

Obviously be careful.

But have someone in the truck hold the brake down as hard as possible, get on the gas let it try to spool up like you are going to launch while you are listening for leaks.

Alternate method : How to: make a slightly more baller boost leak detector - evolutionm.net
Without taking the IC off, you can take the hoses off (the motor side not the ic side) Plug up one side.
On the other side
Rig up something (like pvc cap and some connectors) so you can connect an air hose fitting up to and it take it (start of low 1 psi) up to 40 PSI, This will test all your hoses and IC. IF it holds you are good, if not, you know you got a leak..

Sort of like a radiator pressure tester..
