Help w/buying a 05 F350 Lariat, DRW, CC, 4wd w/only 26k Miles.

Had some questions and need some help guys.

I found a 2005 Ford F350 Lariat, CC, DRW, 4wd w/only 26k miles for $26.5k.
The truck is very clean, women owned and in great shape. Has a gooseneck hitch in the bed and the seller (Dealer who took the truck in as a trade-in) stated that it has a 13k GVWR and has rear airbags & 4.10 RA and was used to pull a horse trailer.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the 13k GVWR? I plan to tow on occasion and my load is only about 6klbs max and that will be done via the trailer hitch under the rear bumper. This will not be my daily driver; I plan to use it on occasion to go to the dump, tow cars to and from the auction which ranges milage wise from 30 miles to about 150 miles. On occasion I will drive it to work (50 miles round trip). Will the mpg suffer due to the 13k GVWR? As soon as I get it, I plan to have the egr deleted and arp head studs put in so I don't have to worry about those reliability issues.

I pulled a OASIS report and it had been to the dealer for a ECM reflash, but thats it, no other issues or headaches. Has basically a clean bill of health.

Any tips or suggestions?

In the state where I live (Pa.) the tag cost per year for a 13,000 vs a 9,000 F 250 would be over $100. The higher you go the more insurance cost. Sounds like a lot more truck then what you need. A F 250 gasser would fill your 6,000 lb. needs much cheaper and less expensive then a diesel.

WOW!! That sounds like an awesome deal! Wish I had foung it... The GVWR isn't really something to put much thought on. You have to remember that is a big truck... Kinda pay to play. I will bet if you drive it some, get used to it and you won't want anything less. There is just a really cool feeling owning one. Besides, you can haul anything now.. without a thought! Good luck, wish I had found it!

I'm going to register it as a farm vehicle so the costs of registration are next to nothing ($2.50 a year). I've already owned a 02 F250 7.3lt PS and a 07 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD; I want a dually this time out.

I like to ask you a question on the farm tags, what would happen if you were stopped several hundred miles from the registered address or out of state towing a pleasure vehicle? I know in my state you don't need state inspection, but I think there is certain times your not suppose to be on the road.

The state insp in my state is a one time thing for the ownership of the vehicle unless it is sold then the vehicle needs to be reinspected by the new owner. Not sure on that question, but that is a great question and I will inquire about it.
