Any time i park it overnight and the temps get into the 20s or below it leave a puddle. The tech pressure checked the system AFTER starting the truck and could find nothing. I am going back to the dealer today to put the truck back in it still makes the flute noise on deacceleration and the leak is not fixed.
The leak on cold nights on the right side of the engine is from the EGR cooler. Eventually every dealer will have seen enough of these to recognize it and fix it without all this hassle. Pressure testing it is exactly the *wrong* way to go about it! It's only when cold and under lack of pressure that the seal leaks. Seals just fine when the truck is running.
I just finally had mine fixed for this, after going through the whole pressure-test-NPF rigamrole last winter. They said this is the first one they've seen, but I told them it certainly won't be the last.

Well, my truck has been to the dealer and back, and the problem is not fixed. The service ticket states:
"Confirmed noise replaced gasket on EGR cooler to Y pipe as per TSB 52109"
Within 1 hour of picking my truck it was making the "flute" noise agian. I really think there is some correlation to the coolant overflow...it seems to be where the noise comes from. This is very frustrating!
My truck just "done" as well today, coolant leak was a hose clamp(surprising, but better than egr cooler tube again!), and they can't even replicate the flute noise, so I have to take it out with a mechanic and point out the noise to him. Just out of curiousity, will this noise happen for any of you when not moving? I tried to make the noise just sitting in park in the driveway, and it wont do it.

There is definately a correlation with my 05' being fully warmed up, and the the outside temp. The colder it is, the more it does it. I have noticed some small splatters of coolant on the overflow tank around the cap, apparently from it "puking" one time or antoher. I'm beginning to believe this noise IS coming from the cap on the overflow. I'm going to order a new one from Ford and see what happens. Anything to not have to listen to the flute quartet while I'm driving!
Yeah, mine only seems to do the noise once the truck is warmed up a bit. It was about -18C here yesterday, and when I took out the mechanic to replicate the noise, I thought it made less noise than it normally did, not sure why, but go figure I guess, if the mechanic wasnt in the truck, would have probably been squealing like a pig! Anyways, he did hear the noise as well, and said thats not a normal noise he's heard before, so they kept it overnight.
Interesting thought on the coolant overflow tank cap not holding pressure.....I'll mention that to them as well
Also, just to clarify, mine only makes the sound after letting off the accelerator and the engine was under boost, once the boost is gone, the noise is gone, if that explanation makes sense. The mechanic said the sound reminded him of the whistle a kettle makes when it comes to boil.

That is a good comparison to the tea kettle sound. Mine is almost exactly like that.
You are correct, it only makes the sound when letting off the throttle or going down the highway at 10psi or less of boost. Never when the truck is at idle.
I saw 2 techs in my truck at noon hour going down the road. I called them and mentioned about the possibility of that overflow coolant tank cap not holding pressure correctly, they said they'd check it and add to their list of possibilities. But this is the first one they have seen in their shop with this noise.

Just following up with the rest of you......any updates on your noises? Mine is still there, can hear it all the time now. Dealer said they couldnt find anything, and nothing in any TSB's they've come across. But the tech heard it as well. Basically they said dont worry about it.....told them to be sure its documented in my file, as when the cause is found, it WILL be covered under warranty....and they fully agreed and supported me and said it would for sure....at least I'll know they will go to bat for me if it isn't something covered under the 100k warranty on the engine (I'm at 56K now, 3 yr 60K almost up!)

I've been discussing this issue on another site for quite some time now. Some say this sound is the result of a bad degas cap. Others say it is a problem with the turbo bearings going bad allowing excessive lateral movement in the turbine. I tend to agree with this theory more. The following is one of my responses from that other site.
Conditions under which this sound occurs in my rig: 2,000 RPM's and on the rise, 20 psi and on the rise. When I say on the rise, I am refering to a situation when I suddenly let off the go peddle while the rpms and boost are climbing.
I do not see how these conditions would cause the degas cap to "sing". To avoid confusion between two potentialy different problems I pulled the degas cap and I was still able to recreate the sound. So degas pressure is not my issue.
Under the conditions I described above, would it not be true that the air flow through the turbo would be greatly disturbed as a result of momentary negative pressure thus cavatating the turbo. This disturbance of air flow would cause the turbine to break its centrifical plane and over time this would cause slack in the turbo bearings. With the excessive lateral movement of the turbine we would eventually hear the impeller rubbing the turbo housing, which was previously mentioned. On a couple of occasions I have heard this noise after shutdown as the turbo spools down?

just a quick dumb question, people that are experiancing this noise, how many of you have the zoodad mod?
cause i noticed my truck making this sound also but it was soon after i did the zoodad mod...if this guy had a snowplow blocking somthing in the front of the truck that was causing this noise, then maybe its the air kinda wisteling through the hole in the front of the truck. just a thought!
