Hose fitting busted

The fitting from the degas bottlewhich is a 1" hose with a 3/4" Y has cracked and flaked to the point of failure. There are no parts stores that handle or can even order one. I tried to fashion one out of brass fittings with no luck. My next attempt will be to sweat a 1" copper "T" with a piece of 3/4 tubing and double clamp all of it. Anyone have this problem? I need ideas.

Your Ford dealer can order one for you. There will be two choices, and the earlier part number will fit on all the F-series 6.0L engines. The prefix for the part number will be "3C3Z"

NAPA also can order the hose. Part number is 9433, I think. The price is about the same for either hose.

Take out the degas jug, air cleaner assembly, and cold side CAC tube to access. The clamp on the hose that attatches to the front cover is a little tight, so have some patience.

Thanks for the info. I think I've about decided to go with the sweated copper "T". I'm afraid that if I put the replacement part on there it wont last any longer than the one I'm replacing which was only 4 years. I think I can just groove or rough up the ends so the hose will have something to bite on to and not slip off. I'll double clamp it as well.
