I got my EGR out with channel-locks and I cleaned it shut with a mig welder!!!!! Never said you were a salesman, Doug. I simply noted your plug on a well known fuel additive. Could of been stanadyne, PowerServe...re-read the thread and see who read way too much into what.

If you've had the EGR plug off, it is reasonable to assume that there is a catalytic converter in your future..... and no big dollar additive will change that.

Did the 7.3's have any problems with catalytic converters plugging?<ul type="square">[*]YES - then a 6.0 w/EGR unplugged will have problems![*]NO - then what makes you beleive that a 6.0 w/o EGR would be any different than a 7.3?
What was negative about my post? Simply giving credit where its due for a free plug. Sorry if I rocked the boat with that. I'll be more careful.

F350, I'm sorry. I could have swore that you posted a few months back on Schaeffer's oil and questioned it's ability to be shear stable in the 6.0L.
There were a number of people (me included) that has had good luck with Schaeffer's in our trucks (great wear numbers & shear stability) and someone basically thought that what we were saying was bunk (I mistakingly thought it was you). I goofed up . Anyway, no hard feelings

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
When you remove the EGR, is it in the open, or closed position? Now if it fails, wouldn't it be a good thing if it failed closed?? Is it closed when you ...ummm...unplug it for....race purposes only?

Your point is well taken; I stand corrected and apologize for the misunderstanding. My mind put the wrong accents on the wrong syllables of your post and mistook it for sarcasm. There are some forums where you get slammed for plugging anybody's products.
Thanks again to all who gave feedback on this question.
If you are going to unplug it, then do it with the engine off. There have been other posts who note that when the engine is off, the plug is in the closed position. I think that it has a spring on it to close it when no power is applied, but I'm not sure.
