How to fix Speedo? running 38" toyo

I have a 2003 Ford F250 SD, 4x4, 6.0L im running 38/12.50/18's and my speedo is way off, i also think this is affecting my transmission, i have an SCT Live wire and i can adjust the revs per mile on that but i dont think the computer will take it, the revs for these tires are 550rpm, i was wandering if there was a drive gear i could change or something to correct this, Please Help?

the intermittent codes that pop up are p0730 and p2701, the tow/haul light flashes on and if i put the truck in neutral and shut it off then start it again, it goes away, i also lose 5th gear when this happens, but if i restart the truck i get 5th back, i have taken the tranny to the shop and had it rebuilt and then again pulled apart and everything tightend after the break in point, they have no idea what could be causing this problem, could it be the bigger tires? please help, thx

Get a Superlift Truspeed and recalibrate it to your tire size, then if you still have that problem its not the tires.

I've been running 37" tires without speedo correction for 5 years and my trans has not had the problems you describe.

The best you can calibrate for is 35" tires and I believe this needs to be performed by the dealer. Beyond that, the TruSpeed seems to be the only option.

change your gearing to 4.56.......this will get it back to stock, at least the ecu will think it is. More important though, is your braking will be a ton better

Ok next step. so i did some reading up on this tranny, turns out its a 3 speed with overdrive for all 3 gears, to get you a 6 speed, but you only use 4th gear when towing. kinda complicated i know, my truck gives me two codes, p0730 (invalid gear ratio) and P2701 (?????b apply time range/ reference?) something like that. which means my over drive is not engaging. My truck shifts super smooth from 1 to 3 to 5. thats all i get. so lets say the clutches are perfect. could it be a sensor and if so where is it and how easy to install? I have been racking my brain on this one. everyone is willing to run checks but there going to get the same code i did and charge me 145 dollars to tell me what i already know. Please help. Thank You.

Same here, 37s for over a year now, no speedo correction and none of the problems you have stated.
