How Long Does It Take For A Tranny

I Dropped Off My Truck A Week & 1/2 Ago For The Tranny Slipping. I Got A Call From Service On Monday Telling Me That They Had To Order A New Tranny Last Week And They Got It On Monday. And Just Wanted To See How Long Of A Job This Is.

Thanks For Any Feedback

Re: How Long Does It Take For A Tranny

I get kinda crusty at work.... I will often get a service advisor asking me (after a job has taken a giant leap sideways)when it will be ready. I usually reply that the customer can take it right now, if they like. If there are no wheels on it, no oil in it or it is missing some major sub-assemblies is of little concern. I am doing the best I can... I have no control over scheduling, I have no control over parts supply ....

If yout dealer is good, you wont get your truck ack until after the road test proving the concern is resolved. Sorry I can't be of more help but it is the truck deciding what needs to be done, I am only the messenger.

Re: How Long Does It Take For A Tranny

If they had the tranny this morning you should have your truck this evenening.Dont want to hear any crying from ford employees, its too bad your busy with the TS and 6.0.Your employer decided to put out a not so good product so quit or bite down and bear it.A week and a half to decide on a new tranny is sad.

Re: How Long Does It Take For A Tranny

I Would Love To Here A Ford Employe Say That. Come Get The Truck Like The Codition You Were Describeing. It Would Not Be A Shock To Me Since There Custormer Service Is Not Realy There. I Dropped The Truck On Monday Off And Did Not Here From Them Until The Next Monday For The Trans. It Would Have Been Nice To Here What Was Going On & Now For The Motor I Dropped It Off 9-29-04 They Got The Motor On 10-7-04 I did Not Get The Truck Back Until 10-28-04

If Anybody Said That To Me After Spending $45000 For A Truck And It Broke The Motor At 4000 Miles We Would Have Isues.

Not Trying To Be A Jerk Just Very Upset With The Whole Thing
