Re: How many have you had?

374,270 miles on original turbo on truck in sig. Still makes plenty enough to pull anything within reason. Also still have factory head gaskets and brakes.

1st @ 72k.
2nd @ 77k
3rd @ 99,951.

I wonder if a lot of original turbos' are bad but not noticed
because the trucks are not worked at all or not very often.

An unloaded 6.0 can be running like ______ and not even be noticed.

Re: How many have you had?

None on mine either. But with 51K on her now, she is getting a new engine right now as I speak. I had a ticking noise that I swore was coming from the tranny, so I took it in to the local dealer that I don't really care for. Well, seven days later I called again to check on the progress, and they proceed to let me know that it's not making noises anymore like they confirmed when I left it with them. I had my wife drop me off there that night to pick it up and drove it home with the little ticking noise. Had my 10yr. old run rpm's up while I was under truck and we thought it was tranny(clutch or flywheel) Left it alone that night, next morning went to start it and just spin and spin but no fire. Put it on gooseneck and hauled it to a dealer I should have taken it to the first time. That was Friday befor last. They tore into it very slowly as if they were only going to replace necessary parts. Got a call last Friday that they were going to just replace the whole engine. Service manager says it was all due to a lifter failure. And then the pieces apparently took out the HPOP which is why it would not start. So, thanks to a stupid dealer not looking for the problem, I get a new engine and the good dealer gets the work.

Re: How many have you had?

1 replacement turbo @ 13k miles (now over 20k). The new turbo is a differnet design from a different manufacture (Different P/N). I hope this one will last much longer.
