Re: How Many Miles?

First thing, get an oasis report on the truck! It could save you a lot of aggravation in the long run.

My 04 was a lemon, bet there are guys on here with 03 and 04 with many trouble free miles. I also had an 06 and now and 07 that have been perfect!

Whatever reasearch you can do on the truck, do it.

Re: How Many Miles?

Yes, Ford has had manufactured into the engine an explosive cartridge that is triggered from 20 to 50 miles after the engine warranty has expired. I have mounted a "death clock" on the dash board to remind me to sell this sweet running, beautiful truck one month prior to the 5 year warranty expiring. Funny thing, the built in cartridge on my Dodge detonated about three years prematurely. "The sky is falling, run for them thar hills boys".

Re: How Many Miles?

my 03 had 126500 miles when I traded on an 07. It was going strong and was just getting broke in (not 'broken') at the time.
I wanted the newer style and a set of duals for better handling, or I would have kept it

Re: How Many Miles?

My father in law's truck only had 404K on it when he traded it in. Sure he had some issues, but he got another one. He bought his brand new Jan of 04, and traded it off Sept 06. Now he has drives a 2006.

Re: How Many Miles?

My "03" was one electrical issue after another, and then the injectors went. My "04" has been problem free, for the most part, 48k, well maintained miles and going strong.
