How many of you have a Ford ESP plan?

Ok I'm getting close to the magic 36K, and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth spending the money for a ESP?
IF I get one, I'm only interested in the Ford 7 year 100K plan, the main reason I even consider spending the money is due to the amount of electronics this rig has, I figure in the extra four years of protection I'd have, there is a good chance some of these magic boxes might start going out...
I have been quoted prices everywhere from 4K to 2,400... for the same plan.

So my questions are.
How many of you have purchased the Ford ESP plan?
If you purchased the 7 year, 100K, 100 deductable plan, what did you pay?
If you have a plan, have you used it, if you had your vehicle worked on by a different dealer than where you purchased the plan, did they work on your truck in a timely manner, or did you get hassled?

I have only had minor problems with my truck (knocking on wood) none of which were computer related, I've had more problems with the dealer than anything.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Smile warranty

I went with the 7 year diesel engine only warranty 200k
i think that will cover a catastrophic failure which is all I'm worried about.
It was 2300 If it goes before 200 I win if it doesn't well I lost some money. But gained piece of mind.

The 6.0's are covered by a 100k/5 yr warranty that inlcuded allmost all moajor components. Its not bumper to bumper, but its pretty dang good.

Yes my drive train is covered with the 5 year, 50K warranty, and the engine is covered until 100K, it's the electronics that I'm more worried about, I've seen electronic gauges, and computers stop working when left in the high temps a closed cab can produce.

because I'm not going to install a chip, or tuner, I'm not too worried about the engine, it's those other expensive items our trucks need to function that worry me.

But I guess in the grand scheme of things, if this fancy rig gives up on me, I'll fire up the old 89 7.3 and not worry about computer issues.

I bought the 7 year 100 k warranty for my 02 when I bought it. It paid off when the abs failed after the initial warranty. then in 05 the tranny failed and the warranty saved my butt big time.

When I bought my 08 I was told because the powertrain is covered for 5 years 160 k I should get the ESP only if I have a lot of electronics. i.e. sunroof, upgraded stereo or Lariat and above models. I bought it again. I have all of it. Now I'm good for 7 years on the whole truck pretty much. It paid off big time on my last truck and provides a peace of mind as the truck gets older.
