How is the new April flash?

I was in to a dealer last week with my 05 Excursion (04 engine) and the dealer informed me that there is a new flash avaliable (the first one since I purchased it in October). Has anyone had this flash? What did it do? What is is supposed to do?

Re: How is the new April flash?

I had it done, supposedly to remedy a interface problem with a new EBP sensor. The general response has been that that was likely BS. In any event, there is little difference from the October 2003 flash that the truck had. The TS Tow/Haul is a bit softer, but acceptable. For you this may be an improvement since it had been downgraded since my last flash. Performance seems down a bit, but I was in for a turbo overboost (maybe just a bad reading) so this may be expected. I'll know about mileage in a week or so. Basically, I have no complaints about it at this time.

Re: How is the new April flash?

I just got it and until I tow my TT, the jury will be out. The
downshifting of the t/h does seem softer, and the trq converter
does not stay locked like it did when going down hill with the
cruise control set. Cold start seems to be quicker, acceloration
from dead stop is good, idle is smooth. I will let you guys know
how the t/h works when we tow our trailer to the beach at the
end of the month.

Mine was done on 3-18-05, on 5-4-05 the tech at my dealership looked for an update and said that the one I had is the most current.

I hate mine, however, I wasn't having any problems that needed addressing with a reprogram. It was forced on me by the state of Ca.
I couldn't register my truck without it.
