How often does Ford recommend changing the fuel filters on the 6.0? How often do you recommend doing it? I've been doing every 10k and I'm not sure if this is to often. Also, I've been getting my filters from http://www.filter1.com. Is there anyone cheaper who also gives good service?

Why are you changing oil every 3k?
I change my fuel filter every other oil change at 15k. We have pretty good fuel here. I have yet to see any WIF. Delo 400 at 7.5k intervals, no romps, surges and it fires right up, runs smooth, with plenty of power.

How do your f.f. look at 10K mi.? Ex: Dirty/can't see white filter media + black speck's or gunk floating in fuel. Or media partially dark colored or media just barely dark & so forth. You probably get the idea.
Book says (as mentioned) 15K. However you might need to change sooner or maybe later. Meaning you could get more than 15K mi. on a set. Just don't forget..dirty fuel can wipe out a new set of f.f. real quick. I know, been there/done that. Carry spare set.JMO!
btw..ITEC (old name/International) 4.5L f.f. are same used in 6L.(I use them) Meaning don't ask for 6L PSD f.f.

I change every 3000 more because of time than miles. I don't use my truck everyday, so its easier to just change it every 3000.

my truck fuel filter has been serviced entirely by the dealer at 15K miles and the oil changed at 7.5K just like the book says. with ULSD fuel it is even better on the oil and fuel filter

He said he was still getting 17mpg. He has an 06 F250.
I told him he was nuts.

I accidentally missed a change & went just about 30k. I was fortunate - we have pretty good fuel around here, and the old filters were not badly discolored & had no WIF when I drained it. No loss of economy either.
I won't do it again, but I lucked out last time.

I'm on my 3rd set including originals at 28k and I would say I am wasting money because the ones I take out look as good as the new ones I put in.I guess I should be happy but I almost would like to see some scum on them.I would say that I buy from a very high volume fuel dealer & use fuel additives 100% of the time(power service)I justify changing them so often because I caught a deal on them from international.$90.00 for 3 sets and dealer wanted $100.00+ labor for 1 set.I think I could go 20k on a set but it will never happen!!
