HPOP exploded

Finally got my 6.0 (2003 F550) together with new rings, bearings, and HPOP. It started right up and ran for about a minute when the HPOP blew apart.

Is it just a bad new pump? or some other possibility?

Wow man that sucks. My guess (and only a guess) is that if everything was cleaned and recleaned so that nothing could have possibly made it into the pump, chalk it up to part failure. I have never seen this personally, but this site is awesome & I'm sure someone on here has. Anyway, I have seen my share of new part failure, and good luck getting the supplier to pay warranty labor. Well, Ford replaced the pump, just took a couple of months to get it here. Runs fine now except the mechanic lost the turbo pedestal, so I'm waiting on that before any rough roads. Should be here around Christmas
