Sign me up too. If I can get my truck to get even 5MPG better I'd be happy from the 14-15 it gets now.

I drive a 2005 X completely stock and at 60 MPH on rural HWYs I get 24.5 + MPG all the time. Now in town, where I have stop signs and red lights every block or two I get around 17 + and on the interstate at 70 MPH I get 21 MPG. This is with FMC 15W40 oil. By the way my 2003 PSD X also got these same MPG numbers. So what is the big deal with Amsoil! You are down in Miami where an interstate HWY bridge overpass looks like a mountain, driving on flat roads, on rural HWYs and your only getting 25 MPG! Now if my friend with his standard cab, 4X2, 6 speed were to get 27-28 MPG at 60 MPH on dead flat ground without ever seeing a stop sign, would you claim that as a Amsoil miracle as well? I thought you were making a case that Amsoil was great rather than you're driving conditions just promote better mileage.

Think about it. If truly replacing the dino oils in vehicles would return this astounding increase in fuel mileage, wouldn't the beleagured US auto manufacuters be beating down the door of Amsoil. With truck/large SUV sales slumping terribly, Amsoil could be the golden bullet the manufacturers need so badly now with gasoline quickly approaching $4 a gallon. I don't buy the sales hype Amsoil distributors/salesman pitch on increased fuel mileage. Better engine protection, less wear maybe, but still no better than any other full synthetic engine oil. If Amsoil is sooo much better than any other engine oil, why is it not the oil of choice for new production Porche, BMW, and Corvettes instead of Mobil1?

If there was such a thing, to increase MPG that much the EPA / Government would shut it down to loss profit. Everyone and there mother would be using it.
I thought I read that using Amsoil in a 6.0 would result in the internal formation of diesel fuel molecules that transmigrate by osmosis to the injectors in such quantity that the engine would never need to draw fuel from the tank. Now that's seriously good MPG.

The flag is still waving. I have used synthetics in many applications, from autos to aircraft gas turbine engines. I will stick to my guns. Either your "friend" cannot correctly compute fuel mileage or you both are sales weinies(small slice of the Amsoil pyramid). Just about every auto/rv/truck show I have ever attended, there is a small both set up along with the other aftermarket hawkers that sell Amsoil. They have their little plastic gear box where you can spin the wheel and watch the "good" Amsoil stick to the gears, and the "awful, cheap" dino oil drain away. Cute but they need a new trick. If I am going to use synthetic oils, I will buy Mobil1. Resonably priced, easily bought at most retail outlets. Instead of out of Bubba's garage. 25mpg, that is a hoot!

well I may be on flatland but my truck was buit in 1988 urs much better at becoming effecient, mine gets as good as yours, look it seems you guys rather change out more expensive oil many times ayear than buy oil that works with specific soot removal filters, and oil that does not create sludge even after 20k service. I have 96k on my 88 f250 with only two oil changes, I had to add oil and just change out filters, much cheaper than dino, plus I keep getting repeatable mpg results, why would I change back to dictatorship oil? it isn't good enough for me to play with.
I took the initial risk and bought amsoil a found a product with no competition for my money, so no I won't give it away. it is worth too much, handouts are not the best way to service a truck

Where did that tidbit of info come from? I dont think Amsoil will not have a recommendation for ford 6.0 diesel, I have 3 friends that have Amsoil in their 6.0 trucks all claim smoother, cleaner, better mpg from the trucks, Amsoil makes a specific 25k oil filter for these engines, now many may think no way 25k but yes it is fact.
if run with an additional bypass filter and UOA you may use the oil indefinatelly, like I run in my diesel.
all this talk of shear and 6.0 eating up Amsoil is somewhat misleading,
if Amsoil is used with clean air filters and Amsoil oil filters then yes Amsoil diesel oil will last 80k or longer with out change of original sump oil, changing full flow filters and bypass filters based on milage or UOA will keep you from having to constantlly change oil that has more soot in it than lubricating properties when your dumping it, thats why it gets changed, filter capacaty exceeded, filter rec is 5k for standard filters.
using Amsoil isnt for everyone, you have to be resposible for what you do to your vehicle, if you dont have the attention span to understand why you are using Amsoil then stick with the manufactures rec, if you seek something better then it is up to you to understand what your truck needs as far as lubrication, diesel engines that work hard need extra protection, clean oil is vital to diesel performance/economy, using dino oil with discount filters only have to protect for short period, it is up to you to dump and reload your truck, if your late on a change you are contributing to the demise of your engines efficiency from allowing it to experience wear from dirty oil, soot, sludge.
Amsoil dosent create sludge ever, it has additive to suspend contaminates and Amsoil filters will catch any thing larger than 2 microns, Amsoil bypass filters will catch soot and pump out analitically clean oil every time you drive, keeping your oil cleaner than any other filter manufacture can claim except for maybe Donaldson.
when using Amsoil for extended drains you can keep the oil clean with yearly filter changes and meanwhile take note of fuel milage for engine performance and maintenance.
drive your truck dont lay underneath it.

Well that little tidbit comes from Amsoil, ask them yourself. There has probably been more threads on oil than anything on this site, do a search. I quite frankly don't care that you think Amsoil is better, if you take a 6.0l to the dealer and they find out Amsoil is in it, your warranty will probably be history, then you get to pay for the thousands of dollars of 'standard' fixes to your truck, not good. If you like Amsoil, go for it, but you souldn't mislead people.

I haven't mislead anyone, as far as misleading goes the genius that said amsoil told him they didn't reccomend a oil for him, that was just that guy.
I called amsoil this morning and I spoke with steve at tech and he had a good laugh at what I said.
he told me they have thousands of 6.0 running around with no issues. want to back that up call them 715-392-7101 ask for tech.

Notice the use of the GV unit installed. Also, you are comparing apples to oranges. The 7.3 IDI and the 6.0 are two totally different technologies. If anything, the oil is much more important to the 6.0 (and I'm still not believing this Amsoil "tidbit").

You "think" or do you know? You are making all these "claims-to-fame" about Amsoil, and you're posting on how great this "miracle" oil is, almost with a sales pitch cliche, and you don't even know....not helping your claims any IMHO.

Ummmmm, at this point in time, I think YOU should have something more than just claims as to how good this "miracle" oil is other than "My buddy......"
Unless proof is shown, you are in the misleading "niche".
I hate to say this, but people aren't just going to spend the $160 bucks for 5 gallons of oil, plus the cost of this other "miracle" called a 25K oil filter and it's associated bypass hardware, just to see if their truck will run better. If Amsoil is such a most wonderful oil, why aren't their many other people claiming that they got this awesome increase in fuel mileage, etc. and why hasn't the rest of America caught on? Again, in case you didn't understand my earlier post, if you send me what I need to get this big increase in fuel mileage, smoothness, longevity, etc., and I can legitimately see that your claims are backed up, I will gladly PAY you for the services/goods rendered. Since you are pushing the idea of how Amsoil is this wonderful miracle oil, this shouldn't be a problem. Heck, I'd even post my findings to better the cause, but until I have tangible evidence/written proof, I'm not even going to think twice about what oil I'm gonna buy the next time I need to change my oil. It's worked for many of those on this board, and it works for me!!!!
well I will look for written proof from shell, delo, shaffers, valvolene, or any other dino oil manufacture for diesel oil that is better than amsoil...
when I find it u will be first to know.
since any proof from amsoil isn't valid here.

It's not that the proof isn't valid from Amsoil, it's that you are trying to prove what a really great oil Amsoil is only with claims from your buddies and the fact that you say it makes a person have a truck that goes from running marginal to running almost perfect.
Really all it would take is for you to post DOCUMENTED information backing up the claims you are providing in your posts. The other members have posted UOAs and such that show documented results with the particular brand of oil they are using. Hell, ALL the oil manufacturers will tell you that their oil is superior to all others, but that leaves the decision to the guy/gal purchasing the oil they want. I've had people tell me that Penzoil is the worst oil made and it made their engine bite the dust, but I've got a buddy (yea, I said a buddy) that went from Motorcraft to Penzoil in his 7.3, and he told me that his oil leaked stopped and his truck seems to run better b/c of just the oil change. I'm not going to go on an escapade trying to sell Penzoil to all those asking which oil is the best, as it's up to the person buying the oil to make that final decision. Personally I use Delo 400, and I use it b/c I've had good experiences with it in the past in the gassers that I've run it in. Like I said twice before, if Amsoil is such a wonderful oil, as YOU say, I'd be willing to try it, but you seem to keep avoiding that proposition, which to me doesn't help your cause any. I, as well as others here that probably wouldn't take the hicky just to "try" this miracle oil, am not going to spend all this extra money on this oil and setup, only to have it not show me any noticeable or recordable change in the performance and longevity of my truck. I'd rather spend money on maintenance that I know works and use any money left over for other things I need.
