If it was a horse I'd shoot it!!!!!!

I have a 2004 psd. It has been a great truck for over 122,00 miles. Now in the last two days I have thought about vehicular homicide (shooting it). It started by blowing very black smoke on acceleration. That moved on to some of the hardest shifting I have ever witnessed. Well I decided on talking to a pro about these things. Went to Ford house and he seen my tuner and immediately said it was cause of that. Realized I was going nowhere fast started reading some of these posts and today I pulled my EGR valve and cleaned it. My next question is where is the IPC and where can I find the *%$hole that thought it was funny to hide it. Thanks in dvance!!!

if you have a late 04, the ICP sensor will be on the front and top of the pass. side valve cover..

If it's an 03/ early 04, it'll be under the turbo and accessable from the drivers side.. I changed mine recently... Click here..

also, what leads you to ICP? sounds more like a bad injector, if the smoke is really heavy under any throttle input.. if so, get it fixed ASAP.. a leaking injector can fill the crankcase with fuel and possibly hydro the hole..

If I am at a dead stop with my foot on the break it will try and take off without any warning. It also idles pretty rough . I appreciate your response william 04x and those are really great pics. So what was yours doing that made you think it was your ICP? I guess I could tell you that my truck has a superchip tuner, magnaflow 4 inch exhaust,k&n intake and I only run wix oil and fuel filters. I don't know if this will be any help to anyone, but I will take any and all advice to heart.

Lots of posts on WIX filters. They aren't doing your vehicle any favors. I know, most people will bristle up and say prove it. Just take some time and research it. Filtration and fit are best w/ OEM style filters (Motorcraft, Racor, International, and some Frams (but not all)).
