NOTES: 5R110W has a feature called "Cold Mode". If TFT is below 0 deg F, the transmission will limit
operation to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears (5th and 6th gears are disabled). Cold mode remains in effect until TFT
rises above 0 deg F or vehicle operation (based on shift times or heat generated by driving) indicates that
TFT should not be in the cold mode range, at which point normal operation is enabled.
I searched for a while to find this and couldn't find the thread where I wanted to post ot so I made a new one.
I read on here a couple days ago in some post that the tprqushift is technically a 6 speed. The extra gear isnt always used though or something to those effects. I cant remember exactly, I didnt pay muhc attention to it since I dont have one.
Is that as in 5 forward and 1 reverse for a total of 6 programmed?

It's 6 forward speeds and a reverse. Its like old c6 (3 speed auto) and a Gear Vender Overdrive, only electronic controls.
It is a combination of 2 xmissions in one case.
You get 1st, 1st over drive, 2nd, 2nd over, 3rd and 3rd over for six gears. Ford does not use 2nd over or third depending on temperature, giving you 5 speeds.
