Just bought my first 6.0...What to look for?

I just bought an '05 CC, Dually with a 6.0. I'm going down to the States to pick it up in a couple of weeks. Is there anything I should be looking for when I drive it home (About 3500 miles)? I'm guessing the Torqueshift tranny is going to be a lot different than my '95 with the E4OD.

Get the VIN # and have an Oasis Report done on it so you can identify it's work history through Ford dealers.

When you see it check for Oil leaks at the CAC Tubes, and the bottom of the bell housing.

Check Coolant level and look to see if there is any sign of puking (Chalky White dried coolant resudue in the engine compartment.)

How many miles are on it?

I've checked the VIN # with Autocheck, Carproof and Oasis and It looks good. Oasis showed Ford replaced the vacuum pump, replaced rear brake rotors and front crankshaft seal. No accidents or anything. 54800 miles showing on odometer. I will check the items you mentioned before I drive it home. Thanks for the info.

you should absolutely love the torqueshift, i have a couple 7.3's with the 4r100 and they are good old workhorses, but they don't hold a candle to my torqueshift . 250k plus and no problems and pull like a train.

Right on! Thanks for the info guys. I'm really getting excited about this trip. I guess I'll throw a few wrenches into my suitcase so I can check the clamps.
