I have a 3-4 gallons of kerosine left over from a couple of heaters I use in my barn. Won't be needing them until next winter, and didn't think I'd want to use the old kerosine after such a time, so is it OK to burn this stuff in my 6.0?
Should be about the same stuff as #1 diesel ? Didn't know about the lubrication properties of kerosine and if that would make any diff.

Is it dyed red (signifies no road taxes were paid on it)? Admittedly, you're only escaping about a buck of taxes by burning it, but if they just happened to dip your tank at the wrong time, it's going to create a whole bunch more than a buck's worth of headache for you!

Winter grade fuels have as much as 20% kerosene. As long as the fuel is clean I see no problem. Be advised that kero does not have as many BTU's as diesel and would adversely affect your fuel mileage. Not much, but some

The lubricity of kerosene is not the same as diesel. You would be risking your injectors inless you ran it with a lubricity enhancer or alongside regular diesel. Even then, its not ment to be used in the truck, so why use it to save a couple pennys. Unless I was out of diesel in the middle of a desert with nothing but kerosene, I would never even chance it.

A little perspective here perhaps? No dye and 3-4 gallons total? Go ahead and mix it two gallons at a time at fillup time. Won't affect lubricity enough to matter and yes, kerosene is about the same as #1D.
You're probably getting a higher percentage than that in winter blend anyway. If still in doubt, just add some Stanadyne PF, which I use in every tank anyway.

All of these great "go ahead" quotes from people who don't own the vehicle. Let's say just for S&G that you add the kerosene, but you DON'T add it at the "right" mixture and something happens to your engine, injectors, etc. Are all of these "experts" on this board going to pay for your repairs that aren't covered under warranty. Insead of "burning" 2 dollars worth of kerosene in your Ford, why not sell it to these "experts" in their rigs so if something happens it's on them? All this nonsense to "save" a few bucks....really!!

If we were talking used motor oil, or brake fluid, or ATF, or any number of other odd oily substances, I could see your point. But this is kerosene for goodness sake! It's a fuel. It's like "diesel lite." It's commonly blended with diesel, at much higher percentages than is being discussed here, precisely to thin it out and lower the gel point in extreme cold. The only possible downside is reduced lubricity, for which there are numerous fine products to counteract, just like a lot of people do when running winter blend fuel anyway.
Seems like burning it in the truck is a perfectly legitimate way to get rid of it, even with the additional cost of a bottle of additive. I believe the original poster was looking for a way to sanely get rid of some leftover kerosene (as opposed to say, dumping it down the sewer), not as a way to save a few bucks, and this is a great way to do it.

Thank you, a few gallons will not hurt. If engine was "worked" and taken to track and run WOT it "might" hurt the injectors. I would like to meet the man that could prove the kero caused the problem.
To add a little more perspective to this issue, Ford's additive is more than 60% Kerosene and up to 10% Naptha. MSDS HERE
The choice whether to burn it in your truck is yours to make, but if it is clean there should be no issues connected with mixing it into the tank a bit at a time.
