Don't need to tell the difference between one tank to the next, that will always read higher. It needs to be averaged over the long haul for accuracy and yes it does see flucuations quickly, like when the seasonal blends change. Batting average comparison is not apples to apples.

Actualy it is a good analogy. Averging is averaging and that's what the overhead does. Averages starting with data from reset. 15 MPG averaged over 5000 miles will not be affected enough to see it change the on the display if you go 10 miles at 2 MPG. 5 miles at 15 MPG and 5 miles at 2 MPG will make a marked and quick change, or using your words, you'll see fluxualtions quickly.

Re: Lie -O-Meter

Shooter -

On your '05, adjust the display until MPG is shown. Then push the reset button. It resets immediately. If you are on the freeway & running downhill, it can go up to 99 MPG! Of course, it will come down when you head uphill again and the computer averages.

Regards,
LRRP

Re: Lie -O-Meter

Kenv -

On the '05 KR, you just have the one reset button on the dash - it's not like the overhead displays like I had on my '03. You adjust the display to show MPG & then hit the reset button. To adjust the trip odometer, you adjust the display to show miles & hit reset the same way.
