losing coolant, lacking power

mine is constantly puking whenever pulling heavy load or when driveing over 55 mph I also notice it doesn't have the quick power responce that it use to have and the turbo is fluctuating. I have taken it to ford they said it was a bad pressure cap but that did not cure the problem. I have lowered the coolant level to 1" below the min line checked for water leaks but still have the problem

Re: loseing coolant, lacking power

Have them test for HG's or EGR Cooler failure. When the EGR Cooler goes, there is a loss of power but usually so much white smoke you can't see the cars behind you.

Re: losing coolant, lacking power

TSB's list "specific" tests for puking/loss of power & mpg.

Obviously c.cap didn't fix your problem. As mentioned (specific or combination bad parts) bad HG(puking/loss of power) turbo (power loss) f.i.(power/mpg loss) EGR cooler etc. No smoke, but did you notice any oil in coolant? I'm not a tech., but wondering....

If a competent 6L certified tech. replaced cap to correct your puking, seem's specific tests would have been performed. If done then nothing else was found to be defective, right? Meaning you may need to find a new tech? JMO!

btw..if tech.can't duplicate concern's IN HOUSE, then you'll need to figure out how that can be accomplished. Good luck!

Re: losing coolant, lacking power

did you hafta warm up the engine first before ran the test? (i.e. open up thermostat or bring EOT up somewhat)
also, how long before the bubbles appeared in the reserve bottle?

Thanks!

Re: losing coolant, lacking power

we came in with the truck warmed up, took the pressure cap off, topped off the reservoir and did the test. It immediately started to pump water out and bubbles in few seconds. that is my experience I don't know what would be normal.
