Question low oil pressure sensor malfunction

I have a 2004 f-350 that is hard to start and registers no oil pressure at idle. As soon as you touch the throttle, pressure jumps to a normal level. I believe that the oil pressure sensor is malfunctioning. Looking for some tests to verify this

yes thoose sensors go bad sometimes, if you had no oil pressure at idle it would stall out after 5 seconds or so becuase the high pressure oil resivoir would empty and there wouldnt be anything for the injectors, so you have pressure, the oil sender is the one wire connector right behind the oil filter housing.

Hello I have a 2004 Ford F250 4x4 in my shop right now, with no oil pressure at idle and as soon as rpm increases normal pressure . I installed manual gauge and found that it had 8 lbs at idle and 30 lbs at 2000 rpm. Final diagnoses after much grief was found to be a freeze plug in the high pressue oil pump at the inlet location had blown out causing the excessive leakage . have a nice day.

O.K now I have time to explain in detail . Customer came in with hard starting problem and no oil pressure at idle. checked oil pressure with manual gauge and found results to be in what i previosly posted. Wecut open the oil filter and found a small amount of metal. I removed the oil pump to find debris had gone through the gearotor but damage was not enough to warrant the problem. We checked the relief valve in the oil pump housing OK. Then checked the bypass valve in the oil filter housing OK . Then we went looking and found the results in the previos post the housing of the high pressure pump is cross drilled and is sealed by a freeze plug it had blown out exposing the oil rifle and explained the shiney steel glitter in the oil fiter that we found as it probably went through the gears . No damage to the cam or geared train found . Hope this may help
Now I have to go pull the pan and get the freeze plug back or what is left of it . Got customers got to go
