Re: max egts and boost
Just a quick reply here. Havent been around a while (new promotion / moving)
Anyway to put you mind at ease. Stock my 04 could hit 1425 towing. Dealer Doc said normal and dont worry AS LONG AS PROPER COOL DOWN IS FOLLOWED.
Now to that he said dont just watch the pyro. Give it a gould couple minutes after the pyro hits 400 (normal on my truck at idel) if you have ben running that hard.
These motors will take the heat for short peroids of time (less than 30 minutes)
Now having said that I put a DPPI dual cat back exhaust on mine which cut the temp by about 100 to 200.
My limit sustained is 1250 to 1300 pulling grades etc.
Best advice is talk to your Doc and se what he says.
What I have found is the 6.0 runs about 100 to 150 hoter than my old 7.3 when towing.
