Max miles WITHOUT major engine problem

I'll start...

140,000 miles. Egr valve just replaced (not really major). Prior to that a couple small oil leaks were repaired.

I deliver RVs in the US and Canada and put those miles on in 12 months.

Change the engine oil and filter every 5k miles (approx.); used Ford's oil and filters while under warranty now Rotella T and still Ford's oil filters.

Used Ford's diesel additive from day 1.

Change fuel filters every 20k miles (most fuel passes through a NAPA fuel filter for aux. 50gal. fuel tank before the truck's fuel filters).

I just hit 21k miles with my 04 and had Headgaskets replaced at 18k miles. Bone stock except for what you see in the sig.

85K with two EGR valves and two ICP sensors......... Otherwise, it's worked better than advertised.

45k and no isues. Shell Rotella 15w40 every 5k. Power Service added to 75% of tanks.

Just added SCT X3. Wow. Even with custom tune at far less than max it is fast. I had them go conservative. For example only get 20psi turbo boost and instead of rev limit at 4150 I backed it down to 3750. Will post again in 50k more miles.

The one in my sig. according to the Oasis a cracked y-pipe Icp sensor for an oil leak issue. Since i have had it I had an IAT sensor after the Inductive heat flash and the Egr cleaned. Thats It! Knock on wood this continues.

Approaching 100K on my 04 and had the EGR replaced, the intercooler (?) hoses (wasn't having any issues, just the recall thing). Otherwise no issues at all - the thing rocks.

Truck in sig. with 78K on the odometer. No engine related problems to date with 5K oil-change intervals, 15K fuel filter-change intervals, and 30K transmission service intervals.

The only thing I could complain about, if I wanted to complain about something on this truck, is the fuel mileage...

duckdzoo ,

Glad to hear you truck is still doing fine. Being as fuel is a major expense for you and/or your company, you didn't happen to keep track of your loaded/unloaded runs, did ya?

ddduallyfan ,

Awesome numbers...did you do those fixes yourself or take it back to the dealer? Would you mind sharing the costs? If not, that's totally cool.

Later,

no problems until recent oil change-noticed small oil leak prior to the service and advised them of this-engine bed plate leaking-common amoung 6.0 as i am told-'05 excusion psd with 43k and the engine is being pulled to reseal the bed plate.
hate that it comes to this but prior too no issues-just hate to pull an engine-so much to be exposed and potential other issues-i digress-she is still my "beast" and dw daily driver and to pull our upcoming 35+foot rv-so-just hope the dealer i bought from takes care of my beast
