Re: MPG for a 6.0 Diesel

THE MANY VARIABLES:

2wd or 4wd?
body configuration?
consistent speed you drive?
chipped/programmed?
tire pressure?
tire size?
mods?
where you bought your last tankful?
rainy?
headwinds/tailwinds?
outside temp?
flat or hilly where you live?
last time you changed filters?
AC on or off?
windows up or down?

...just to name a few.

Re: MPG for a 6.0 Diesel

If the poll is useless it's because most people don't seem to know how to get their Average. Average is just that average, If you don't check it over a long period of miles, longer than a (hill) going up or down you don't really know what your mileage is. If you haven't kept a fuel mileage log and you haven't Checked your average over 1,000 miles you shouldn't even think of posting your Average MPG!!

My 05 6.0 over the time I have had the truck NEW I have averaged 15.454 MPG That is over 22,000 (miles)-Off the top of my head!! 05 6.0 Reg. Cab 4X4. I've pulled a 10,000# trailer about 12% of that time.

The few times I have Not pulled a trailer For a few tanks I average 16.1!!. I've never pulled a trailer for a whole tank of fuel but I did for about 200 miles and it got 11.2 MPG but I do not think that is a long enough period for getting the average while pulling the trailer!!

You must vote before you can view the results of this poll

Howdy,

This is what always bugs me. Granted, most users here have a 6.0 engine. Some don't, and some don't even have a truck (yet) - like myself. However, all of us "no-6.0-ers" are curious guys. If I want to look at the data, I will have to submit a fake number. Is that what you really want?! Why don't you just open the poll for everyone?
