My UOA
I first changed my oil at 1100 miles and then again at 4300. I used Rotella 15w40 for the oil change at 1100 miles and rotella synthetic 5w40 at 4300 miles. The comments are
"High wear and silicon are both common finds in the oil samples from new engines. The wear is high due to break-in of new parts, while silicon is from sealers and sand casted parts. Universal averages show typical wear metals for an oil from this type of engine after about 4900 mile use, and after breakin is complete. We expect your engine will look better in 2 or 3 more oil changes. The fuel is from rings seating and should disapear in next sample. Rotella 15w40 is good oil and should do well for you. Suggest going to 4000 mi on the next oil"

This oil has been used for this summer for pulling the race car to the track. The car and trailer is about 5000 lbs. Other than that is has just been used around the property for hauling dirt, stones and firewood. The oil will get changed again in the spring regardless of miles. I won't have another 5000 miles on it by spring, but I think it is important to change the oil at least every 6 months.
