Smile Need Help Buying A Psd!

What's up guys,
Im not new to diesels, but I am new to the 6.0 powerstroke. I am in the market for a 2004 F-250 FX4 long bed with 128000 miles. I have read many articles on the 6.0 liter engine, but i would like to get some info from the real people who drive these things daily. What questions should i ask when buying this truck to make sure it isnt a bigger headache in the end? I know they are prone to injector and turbo problems. but i need to know the truth. Thanks for all of your help!

Can you read this site? Seriously, why take a chance on a 128K mile 6.0?

edit: do a search on EGR cooler, oil cooler, high pressure oil pump, oil leaks, FICM failures, warranty, turbo rust, the list goes on and on and on....

Does it have an extended warranty?

History?

Why don't you look into the vehicle history first?
The dealer can give you an OASIS report.
My truck had a lot of major things already replaced under warranty.
I think mileage isn't the major concern. It's about regular maintenance, and whether things like the EGR cooler have been addressed.

My truck had a new turbo on it as well, which was a bonus.

Don't be afraid of the 6L engine. The injector prices, although not cheap are far less than a Cummins for instance.

These boards are about "what goes wrong", not what goes right. Look into the history and maintenance before you buy.
