Re: Need a little help...Replaced the EBP sensor on my truck and I overtightened and snapped it!!
At this point I don't have much of a choice, but I'll ask it anyway.....I don't guess it will hurt anything to drive my truck with the EBP sensor out the hole until I can get something to remove it with will it?

Chit!!! It sounds like an air compressor under my hood now because the hole is open. Hells bells. The wife is uptown now....I'll call her and tell her to get the Easy Out deal and pray that it friggin works. I should have known that the soft brass on the EBP sensor would do that.

Be very careful I had a similar thing happen on my suburban and without realizing it I broke the ez-out in the brass. It just screwed into the brass and got stuck. The ez-out needs to bottom out in the hole before you can back out the bolt, in this case, you are trying to get out a brass tube and the ez-out will not bottom out, it just screws in and makes the brass tighter in the hole. So be very careful if it does not back out easily you probably are going to have to drill it out and re-thread the hole. Be careful...good luck
Re: Need a little help...Replaced the EBP sensor on my truck and I overtightened and snapped it!!
Ok, I got it done. Hoooooly Chit, what a nightmare.
There was ZERO room to work around the EBP sensor bracket so I had to remove the bracket from my truck.
I removed my intake, and all of the flexible hose back to the turbo. I then removed the entire I/C hose that hooks on top of the engine and connects at the bottom of my truck.
Now that all of the stuff is out of the way.....I removed the metal line that connects the EBP bracket to the exhaust. I then removed the two bolts holding the EBP bracket on the engine block. In order to remove the bracket I had to use some channel locks to pinch the clamp that holds the big radiator hose and slide it up while at the same time lifting the bracket up.
Now, getting the old thread removed from the bracket. The EZ Out didn't budge it, AT ALL so I drilled as much as I could out and took it up to NAPA here in town and they put a tap and die on it and rethreaded it.
I then reinstalled everything with the new style EBP sensor (I'll be damned if I overtighten it again) and everything is back to normal. At least I did get to know my truck a little better

Re: Need a little help...Replaced the EBP sensor on my truck and I overtightened and snapped it!!
Glad to hear you got your truck fixed. While growing up, I watched my grandfather extract a bolt that had broken off in a casting. The EZ extractors hadn't been invented yet so we (HE) did it the old fashioned way.
He placed the casting on his mill and carefully located the center of the bolt. He then started with a small drill bit and drilled a hole into the center of the bolt. He kept upgrading to a larger drill size and redrilled the hole each time. Eventually, all that was left was the threads of the bolt in the threads of the casting. From there, we carefully pulled out the threads and we were done. Only took two hours. LOL!
