Need Power Back

I have an 07 Powerstroke Crew Cab that was all stock except that I added an edge juice platinum with attitude monitor. I was very pleased with the power that it created, because I wasn't looking for huge power gains this was more than addequate for me. That being said I recently added 20" rims with 33" tires and the difference in power is more noticeable than I had anticipated. Are there any non extreme things that I can do regain some of my lost off the line power?

Thanks

Going from stock to a 33" tire is hardly a difference....Seems to me you shouldnt be able to really notice it at all.

Regearing to stock would be doing a gear swap which will cost around $1000 bucks. Basically you would be looking at going to a 4.10 gear ratio, rather than your stock 3.73.

Yeah change the ring and pinion gears to compensate for the tire change.Works but its a lot of money.

As for my woofers, its my 3rd and best try at stuffing two 12s back there. I made the box and mounted the 12s next to each other on the drivers side, then put one three inch port on the passenger side facing outward toward the right rear speaker, it fills up every bit of space behind the seats. I used eclipse aluminum dual voice coil subs because they were shallow enough to fit. Its wired to 1 ohm on my jl 500/1 and is very clean and tight, hits hard. Plus I put jls remote bass knob in my drivers door power window switch panel back from the power mirror switch. Depending on the song, It seems like the rear window will explode out of my truck. Might get the 1000/1 someday!

It might be my imagination but while driving around yesterday it seemed to be getting more responsive. Perhaps the truck is relearning everything?

I went down the gearing road with my previous pickup and was not wanting to go there again if I didn't have to. I had a bad experience.

How much benefit is there in adding an intake or exhaust? And speaking of exhaust, Is there an aftermarket exhaust that isn't much louder than stock?

Now that would be interesting to see. I have tried to figure out how to get a box behind my seat and it has just left me scratching my head. Did you have to pull the "skin" off the back wall of the cab that hides the sliding rear window hardware? And did you have to add spacer blocks to the seat to bring it forward and create extra room.

I have built a number of boxes for different cars but nothing where space was as tight as this. Now you have got me thinking about how to do it again.

I forgot about my power window motor. I cut a slot in the shoulder under the window and inserted it inside there. It worked so good that I wondered why Ford didnt do it that way. There were even holes already there for the bolts. I will post a pic for you if you want an idea what it looks like. No my seat is not spaced forward, I want there to still be room for passengers.

Yeah it will have more jam when you punch it, and the turbo will spool quicker. Also you will get lower EGTs and possible better milage after the honeymoon stage. I noticed a big difference, especially when driving my friends bone stock truck, it lags by comparision.

X2, I went from stock to 35s, and hardly noticed a difference.

What would it be relearning? Did you unplug the batteries? If so that would mean the tranny was relearning....If not, its probably your imagintation....As mentioned by me, and one other person, moving up to a 33" tire is literally only about an inch, if that larger in diameter than the stock tire, you shouldnt be able to tell any power difference!

I understand that any aftermarket exhuast is going to make it sound louder, however how much louder. I am looking at the MBRP turbo back 4" that uses the stock cat and a free flowing muffler. Is there something that I can compare the additional noise to. Will it make my truck sound more like a 7.3 or is it going to make it sound like a straight piped tractor. I am mostly concerned with in cab noise. I hate having to raise my voice to be heard when talking on trips.

thanks for all the helpful information

Isn't the tranny allways learning? I thought that I read somewhere on here that (for example) say if i bought the truck from someone else and didn't unplug the battries but just started driving it the way I drive that it would eventually learn my driving habits?

What I was feeling may not have been so much a lack of power as a longer delay in down shifting.

I agree I didn't think that a 33" would make any difference, and maybe I am being hypersensitive but it deffinetly felt like there was a difference. I will keep an eye on it and see if it does continue to feel like it is getting better, or if I am just getting used to it.
