Newbie big time
I am considering a private buy of a 2005 6.0 F-350 that has just under 15,000 miles on it. Dually. I tow a 5th wheel and have been wanting more towing power for hills and mountains.
This would be my first diesel.
I have read that the 05 6.0s have a lot of issues. Others say add a coolant filter and that resolves the biggest issue with that engine. I keep up with the maintenance on all my vehicles, but is that enough with this engine?
The vehicle is already rigged out with a 5th wheel hitch, sprayed in bedliner etc. It is in great shape cosmetically.
The asking price is 26,000.
I don't want to buy a lemon of course, but I also know that ANY vehicle, any model year is subject to various issues.

p.s. the people i am buying from, maybe, parked their travel trailer on a lake and wound up not towing much. guy died and his wife is trying to sell the truck.
