Re: No Heat

What are the symptoms of a "Puker?" So far I have noticed that my overflow bottle is full to the rim and there is some evidence that a tiny bit of coolant escaped from the cap.

Re: No Heat

Generally puking happens while driving under a load - coolant blowing out of the pressure cap. The cooling system has been known to be overfilled from the factory, which will contribute to the problem. I would drain the bottle down to the "min" level and keep an eye on it.

Re: No Heat

you may also have air pockets in your system.if i remember correctly you need to fill system by removing plug in upper radiator tube to fill.my semi had same problem and i removed radiator cap and let the t-stat cycle a few times-problem fixed.having air in system mioght also cuase puking but you said you didnt start adding coolant till it got cold-sounds like a cold leak.wont leak after engine heats up but will after it cools.might check all connections or better yet take to dealer and have w2arranty fix it.

Re: No Heat

Check the thermostat. Mine was doing the same thing. I didn't notice the loss of heat under low load conditions untill it got about 20 degrees and lower. I knew the rest of the system was good, and was stopping to check the temps of the engine with an infered thermometer. I also noticed ( on my truck anyways) that the temp guage would actually start to go back down if I was cruising, or idling. I swapped out the T-stat and it will heat me out of the cab without a problem. That is what fixed my problem anyways. Like usual the Ford dealers I talked to said they have never sold a T-stat for a 6.0L yet??!! Who knows.
