OEM Battery Warranty?

I just replaced the dead OEM BXT-65-750 batteries at 39 months (2006 F350 KR). Ford Quick Lane said no pro-rata warranty past 36 months full replacement. The replacement BXT-65-850s have 36 month full replacement PLUS pro-rata to 100 months.

Is this correct that the OEM has no pro-rata or was this a dealer game??

Anything that the car comes off the assembly line with tends to have a minimal or no warranty. I hope you did not have them replace the battery. For what they charge you can almost replace both batteries, which is what you need to do. You must replace both batteries at the same time. If you don't then you are going to have problems every couple years as they fail in a staggered fashion. I would make sure they are good or replace asap. It has be hypothesized that a weak battery or a problem alternator can take out the FICM, which is a very high ticket item.

Thanks RD,
I did replace both batteries at $109 each, minus $20 each mail in rebate. It is just puzzling that I can buy the identical battery from Ford as a replacement and get a pro-rata warranty, but the OEM did not have one. Same Motorcraft battery either way.

They don't have to offer long batt warranty to get you to buy the new vehicle.
They offer the longer warranty for replacements so you'll buy

Angry Same thing!

I just called a local dealer here in Houston and let them know I had both batteries checked and both failed. I have a 2007 F250 w 50k on it. Quiklane told me that the OEM batteries were only covered under the 36000/36month originall warranty and that Motorcraft would not honor any other warranty. BUT I could bring the truck in and buy the same exact batteries for a total of $139.00 each (included labor) and they would come with the 3 year replacement and the remaining 5 years pro rated. ***!!!
