Off Road Romps

While traveling thru the rough stuff you tend to jack the throttle around a bit causing the truck to "romp". In the old days you added an extra throttle return spring to remedy this. Any suggestions on how to obtain a heavier throttle pedal on the 6.0's?

Re: Off Road Romps

My guess is that it is not possible. The throttle is a "fly-by-wire" setup. i.e. no linkage, springs, etc. as we grew up seeing. The accelerator on these is just a potentiometer sending an electrical signal to the computer asking for more go juice.

Simple speed bumps drive me nuts - offroad is indeed worse.

I suppose it may be possible to adjust this with programming although I've never heard of it being done.

On one hand it's scary. On the other, in the future, mechanical items like valves will be opened and closed with electrical solenoids and not mechanical camshafts, lifters, and pushrods giving almost unlimited performance via programming.

Re: Off Road Romps

I shift it manually into second or third gear.

Makes it much less jumpy.
