Re: oil leak

Regarding the oil leak coming from behind the starter, I've got that. Dealer said the head gasket is ozzing oil and that it is normal. Told them I wanted it on the paperwork which I'll be picking up this Friday. As far as what can leak from above, FORD Doc gave me a good list - oil cooler, filter, HPOP cover, CAC tubes(had that one and got it fixed), turbo, ICP sensor and the breather. Also the glow plug harness, but you can see that from looking through the inside wheel well.

IF you get it fixed, let everyone know as many folks have reported the exact same "leaking down behind the starter" problem.

I got tired of taking it back to Ford for now and just loaded by extreme street tune from innovative and intend to just stuff a big old paper towl up in the "crack" and enjoy the truck for awhile. Maybe time will heal all or it will get worse.

Re: oil leak

Just got a call from Ford. Truck goes back Monday for a rear main seal. They put dye in the truck last week and checked it today. I asked ,are you sure it is the rear main and the service orderwriter said that is where the dye is comming from. 22,400 miles and the first oil leak. Guess it will be a "try it and see" thing. I hope they are wright.

Steve

P,S. Good luck with your oil leak repair.
